Mrs. Chinery-Hesse, née Blay, has had distinguished careers in Ghana’s Civil Service and at the United Nations. In the UN and in numerous other Organizations, she continues to be an important voice on economic development issues, an ardent defender of human rights, particularly women’s rights, as well as an active advocate for African imperatives, conflict resolution and mediation.
Justice Sophia A.B. Akuffo (Rtd)
Justice Sophia Abena Boafoa Akuffo (Rtd.) is a distinguished legal figure in Ghana and has made substantial contributions to the country's judicial landscape. She served as the Chief Justice of Ghana from June 2017 until her retirement in December 2019. Her tenure in the Supreme Court spanned more than two decades, with her appointment as a Justice of the Supreme Court dating back to 1995.
Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo
Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, PhD, FGA, is the (first female) Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana. She is a Professor of Linguistics and an experienced university administrator, with over 21 years’ experience in the higher education sector.
